Lewis Marnell started skateboarding in Australia not long before moving to Sweden. His older brother Jonas was a skateboarding influence on him. Lewis says “when I moved to Sweden skateboarding was definitely still new for me”.

There he met many people who also influenced his skateboarding. “I got to see all the cool skate parks and traveled around”. This early stage in his skateboarding became a spark of motivation that started the journey to pro skateboarder.

Leaving School

School became a barrier and repetitive experience, Lewis dropped out. He wanted to complete his schooling, saying “I wish that I just did it, straight up and got it out of the way. He moved back to Australia to further pursue skateboarding. The long winters and frustration of school in Sweden became motivating factors in this decision.

Lewis chose to live the skate life, winter had to go, with pro skateboarder friends like Dustin Dollin the path and motivation to becoming a pro skateboarder was clear. It was only a matter of time. In 2008 he realized this when he went pro for Almost Skateboards

Sadly Lewis Marnell died of diabetes complications on January 18 2013.
